What the AI Content Checker is

The AI Content Checker is a free page where you paste a piece of writing and get a score from 0 to 100 for how much it reads like chatbot copy. It does not guess which AI tool wrote it. It looks for the habits that make text feel machine-made: stock phrases, favorite words, hedging, stacked transitions and heavy formatting. Use it on blog posts, emails, service pages or LinkedIn posts.

What you get when you run it

You paste at least 30 words and click the button. The score appears right away, with a short verdict and your word and sentence count. After you enter your name and email, the full breakdown opens.

  • Stock framing phrases, such as "it's important to note" or "let's dive in"
  • Words chatbots overuse, such as "robust" or "streamline"
  • Hedge words and stacked transitions like "furthermore"
  • Formatting habits: headings, bullets, em dashes, three-part lists and colon-led sentences

Each item shows the exact words it found and how often.

Why we built the AI Content Checker

In audits we kept opening pages that said very little in a lot of words. The same openers, the same adjectives, the same tidy lists of three, page after page. Owners often did not see it because each page looked fine alone. We built this checker from the style notes we use when we train client teams, so anyone can spot those habits in their own copy before a reader does.

Who should use this checker

Use it if you publish content and want it to sound like a person who knows the business. It suits owners who edit freelancer drafts, marketers who use AI for first drafts, and editors who review a lot of copy. Run a draft through it before publishing, then again after you edit. If the score drops and the text reads better, your edit worked.

Why generic wording costs you

Readers decide fast whether a page was written for them. Copy full of stock phrases and safe adjectives gives them nothing specific to trust. It also hides the details that set you apart: your process, your prices, your results, your opinions. A page that sounds like every other page makes it harder to be remembered, quoted or chosen. Specific, plain writing carries your real expertise.

Why this matters more now

Anyone can now produce a clean-looking article in seconds, so the web is filling with similar-sounding pages. That raises the bar. AI assistants and search tools summarize and compare sources, and pages with nothing original to say give them little reason to pick you. Readers have also learned to spot the tone. Original detail, firsthand experience and a clear point of view now do the work that polish used to do.

How brands win with human-sounding content

Brands that do this well treat AI as a drafting aid, not a publisher. A named person edits every draft and adds something only the company knows: a real customer question, a number from their own work, a stance. They keep a short list of banned phrases. They cut filler openers, cut adjectives that prove nothing, and vary sentence length. The result sounds like one consistent voice, and readers can tell who is talking.

How to make your copy sound less automated

  1. Run your draft through the checker and note the flagged phrases and words.
  2. Delete stock openers and closers. Start with the point.
  3. Replace vague adjectives with a fact: a number, a name, a place, a result.
  4. Break up lists of three and heavy formatting where plain sentences read better.
  5. Add one detail only your team could write, such as a lesson from a real project.
  6. Read it aloud. If you would not say a line to a customer, rewrite it.

How the checker helps with those steps

The checker shows you which phrases, words and patterns to fix, so step one takes a minute instead of an hour. Run it again after each edit to see the score move. It is a style signal, not proof of who wrote the text. If you have a whole site that needs a human voice, our AI Content Humanization service rewrites it for you and trains your team to keep it that way.

Disclaimer

This tool is for information only. It scores writing style using fixed word and pattern lists, not by testing the text against any AI model, so it cannot prove who or what wrote something. Careful human writing can score high and lightly edited AI text can score low, so treat the result as an indicator, not a verdict. The score runs in your browser, and unlocking the breakdown sends us your name and email, not your text.

Flagging it is the easy part.

Our AI Content Humanization service rewrites it to sound like your team actually wrote it — same ideas, none of the tells.
