What the Grammar Checker is
The Grammar Checker is a free page where you paste a short piece of writing and see how many common mistakes it contains. It is a rule-based checker for the slips that make a business look careless: misspelled words, mixed-up word pairs, double spaces and wrong-region spelling. You pick US or UK English first, so it checks against the version your readers expect.
What it checks and what you get
You choose US or UK English, paste at least 10 words and click the button. You see an issue count and a verdict right away. After you enter your name and email, the full list opens, grouped by type.
- Common misspellings, with the correct word
- Commonly confused words, such as "could of" or "your welcome"
- US and UK spelling mismatches for your chosen locale
- Double spaces, repeated words, repeated ! or ? and missing spaces after punctuation
Why we built the Grammar Checker
When we audit a site we read a lot of copy, and the same small errors turn up everywhere. A misspelled service name. A "their is" in a headline. UK spellings on a page aimed at US buyers. None of it is hard to fix, but nobody sees it after the fifth read. We wanted a quick check owners could run before publishing, with no signup needed to see the count.
Who should use this checker
Use it if you write or approve your own web copy, emails or proposals and do not have an editor on call. It also helps teams that serve both US and UK customers and need to keep spelling consistent per page. Run it as a last pass before you publish, and again on older pages you have not read in a while.
Why small errors matter
Readers read errors as a sign of how a business works. A typo in a headline or a button makes people wonder what else was missed. Spelling that does not match the reader's region can feel off, even if they cannot say why. Clean copy will not win a sale alone, but mistakes give a buyer an easy reason to hesitate, and that costs you for no reason.
Why this matters more now
More copy is being produced faster than ever, and much of it goes out with little human review. That makes a carefully proofed page stand out. AI assistants and search tools also read your pages to decide who you are and whether you are credible, and messy text, inconsistent names or mixed spellings make a page harder to interpret. Consistency in how you write your brand and services helps both people and machines.
How brands win with clean copy
Careful brands treat proofreading as a step, not a favor. Someone other than the writer reads each page before it goes live. They decide on US or UK spelling per audience and stick to it. They keep a short style sheet with product names, capitalization and punctuation habits. They also revisit old pages when services change. The effect is steady: every page looks like it came from the same careful company.
How to clean up your writing
- Pick US or UK English for each audience and use it on every page for that audience.
- Run each draft through the checker and fix everything it flags.
- Read the page aloud or at the end first, because typos hide in familiar text.
- Have a second person read headlines, buttons and forms, where mistakes cost the most.
- Keep a style sheet with your brand, service and product names spelled one way.
- Re-check your top pages every few months, especially after edits.
How the checker helps with those steps
The checker handles the mechanical part of steps one and two: it finds the known misspellings, confused words, spelling mismatches and spacing slips, so you do not have to hunt for them. It is a focused rule list, not a full editor, and it will miss tone, clarity and subtler grammar. For writing that is clean, clear and built to convert, see our Content Writing service.
Disclaimer
This tool is for information only. It checks text against a fixed list of common misspellings, confused word patterns and US and UK spelling pairs, so it will miss many errors and may flag words that are correct in context. It is not a replacement for a human editor. The check runs in your browser, and unlocking the full list sends us your name and email, not your text.
Fixing typos is the easy part.
Our Content Writing service writes it clean the first time β on-brand, on-brief, and built to convert.
