The short version
- We collect only what you give us (a name, an email, a message) plus basic, privacy-minded site analytics.
- We use it to reply to you, run the free tools, send what you asked for, and, only where you ticked the box, send marketing emails.
- We don't sell your information. We don't pass it to advertisers or data brokers.
- You can ask us to see, correct, export or delete your information, or unsubscribe, at any time.
Who we are
Audit Geek (also written Geek Audit) is a marketing consultancy. This policy covers auditgeek.agency and the emails we send from it. Questions about it go to [email protected].
What we collect, and when
| When you | What we receive | What we use it for |
|---|---|---|
| Send an inquiry (Inquire Now or Contact) | Name, email, phone and company if you add them, the service you picked, your message | Replying to you. You are also added to our subscriber list because the form asks for marketing consent. |
| Request a quote | Name, email, phone, company, the package, your preferred meeting date and time, any note | Preparing the quote and confirming the meeting. You are also added to our subscriber list because the form asks for marketing consent. |
| Use a free tool that asks for an email | First name, email, which tool, and a short note of what was run (for example the page address or word count) | Emailing you a confirmation link, unlocking your results, and keeping the tools fast and abuse-free. |
| Subscribe on the blog | First name and email | Emailing you when we publish something new. |
| Chat with us on the site | Your name, email and what you are looking for, the messages you send, the page you came from (including any campaign or search term in the link), the pages you view while on the site, your device and browser type, and your country if your network shares it. We keep a one-way scrambled version of your IP address, not the address itself. | Replying to you, showing our team where you are on the site so they can help, and measuring how quickly and how well we respond. A chat is logged as an inquiry. You are only added to our marketing list if you tick the box. |
| Browse the site | Page views, clicks and scroll depth through Google Tag Manager, plus your IP address for security and rate limits | Understanding which pages help and blocking automated abuse. |
We don't ask for payment details, government IDs or passwords on this website.
Marketing emails and your consent
Every form that adds you to our list has a box that reads "I agree to receive marketing communications", and it must be ticked to send the form. That tick is your consent, and we record when and where you gave it. Free-tool users are also asked to confirm their email address by clicking a link before results are shown; that confirmation is how we know the address is yours.
You can withdraw consent at any time by using the unsubscribe link in any marketing email or by writing to [email protected]. Service messages (like a confirmation link you asked for, or a reply to your inquiry) are not marketing and will still be sent when needed.
What the free tools do with your content
- Most tools (grammar, readability, headline, meta tags and similar) run in your browser. The text you type is not sent to us for the instant results.
- When you wait for the confirmation email, your inputs are kept in your own browser's storage for up to 48 hours so they can be restored when you return. They never leave your device and are removed once restored.
- The Web Page Analyzer fetches the one page address you enter, from our server, and keeps the resulting report for about two hours so you can open it, then deletes it.
- The URL Shortener stores the destination address, the short code and basic click counts for the links you create, tied to your confirmed email, until you ask us to remove them.
Cookies and similar technologies
- Unlock cookies (signed, HTTP-only): remember that you confirmed your email for a tool in this browser, and which address was confirmed. They are strictly necessary for the tools to work.
- Preference storage: small items such as whether you already dismissed the blog sign-up prompt, and (for the URL Shortener) your saved name and email so you aren't asked twice.
- Chat identifier: a random code stored in your browser (cookie and local storage, up to one year) so a returning visit and an ongoing chat are recognised. It holds no personal details by itself.
- Analytics: Google Tag Manager loads on the site and may fire analytics tags we configure inside it. Visits from our own team are excluded.
You can block or clear cookies in your browser settings; the free tools will then ask you to confirm again.
Who else sees your information
Only the people and services needed to run the site: our small team; our web host (which stores the site and its private data folder and sends our email); Google (Tag Manager and any analytics we set up in it); and Calendly if you choose to book a call. We don't sell or rent personal information. We may disclose information if the law requires it.
How long we keep it
- Unused confirmation links and their pending records: deleted within 48 hours.
- Subscribers: until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete you.
- Inquiries and quote requests: as long as needed to deal with your request and keep reasonable business records, then deleted on request.
- Web Page Analyzer reports: about two hours.
- Chats and visitor activity logs: up to 24 months, then deleted. Chat messages that become part of a project are kept with that project.
Your rights
Depending on where you live (for example the UK and EU under GDPR, or California under CCPA/CPRA) you may have the right to access, correct, export or delete your information, to object to or restrict certain uses, and to withdraw consent at any time. Email [email protected] from the address in question and we'll act on it, normally within 30 days. You can also complain to your local data protection authority.
Security
We protect information with the measures described on our Data Security page. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to keep ours tight and will tell affected people and the relevant authorities if a breach puts your information at risk.

This site is for businesses and isn't directed at children under 16. If you believe a child has sent us information, tell us and we'll delete it.
International visitors
Our team and hosting may be outside your country, so your information can be processed elsewhere. We apply the same protections wherever it is handled.
Changes
If we change this policy in a meaningful way we'll update the date below and, where the change affects how we use your email, tell subscribers. Last updated: October 31, 2026.
