What the Schema Markup Generator is
This is a free tool that writes schema markup for your pages. Schema is a block of code, in a format called JSON-LD, that labels what a page contains: a business, a service, an article, a product, an event and so on. You answer a few questions and pick from more than 780 schema.org types, and the tool builds the code for you to paste into your page.
What the tool does, step by step
It works in three steps.
- Describe your site: name, address, a short description, the kind of page, and optional contact and social links.
- Pick schema types. The tool suggests types based on your page type and your description, and you can search the full catalog.
- Fill in the fields for each type. The JSON-LD updates as you type, and you copy it when you are done.
Picking more than one type combines them into one block.
Why we built the Schema Markup Generator
In audits we usually find one of two things. Sites have no schema at all, or they have a single generic block from a plugin that describes nothing specific. Most generators only offer a handful of types, so owners of clinics, schools, event pages or software sites end up with a poor fit. We built this around the full vocabulary so the real type is available.
Who should use this generator
Use it if you manage a website and want search engines and AI tools to understand your pages without guessing. It suits small business owners, marketers and developers who want a clean starting point. You do not need to know JSON. If you are comfortable pasting code into a WordPress custom HTML block or your page head, you can use it.
Why schema markup matters
Plain page text leaves machines to infer what a price, a date or a phone number means. Schema states it directly. Google can use that information to show richer results for some content types. It also helps keep your business name, address, services and answers consistent wherever your page is read. Clear labels reduce the chance your details get misread.
Why this matters more now
AI search and assistants build answers from many pages and try to attribute facts to the right source. Structured data gives them an unambiguous statement of who you are and what a page offers. Pages without it rely on the system's best guess. That is a risk for local details, service descriptions and product facts, which assistants may state with confidence if they read them wrong.
How brands win with schema
Brands that do well treat schema as part of publishing, not a one-time task. They mark up each page with the type that fits it. They keep the markup matching the visible page, including names, prices and hours. They link their profiles with sameAs, test each page, and update the code when the business changes.
How to put schema to work on your site
- List your key pages: home, main services or products, contact, and any articles.
- Match each page to the schema type that describes it. Use Organization or LocalBusiness on the home page and the specific type elsewhere.
- Fill in only facts that appear on the page and are true today.
- Paste the code inside a script tag of type application/ld+json in the page head.
- Test every page with our Schema Markup Checker and Google's Rich Results Test, then fix errors.
- Review the markup whenever prices, hours, services or contact details change.
How this tool helps, and when to get an audit
The generator covers steps two through four. It picks relevant types and writes valid-looking JSON-LD so you do not hand-code it. It cannot tell which pages across your site are missing schema or whether your markup matches your content. For that, our LLM Visibility Audit & Optimization looks at how AI tools read your site, structured data included.
Disclaimer
This tool is for information only. It builds code from what you enter and does not check that your facts are true or that your page content matches. Schema does not guarantee rich results, rankings or AI citations, and Google decides what to show. Type suggestions are based on keyword matching, so review them. The code is built in your browser. Unlocking extras sends your name, email and the types you picked.
Schema is one piece of the puzzle.
Our SEO Audit checks structured data across your whole site, along with everything else search engines and AI tools look at.
